Ukrainia-October1941-AsmallgroupofscatteredGermansoldiersoccupiesabeautifullittlesettlementofRussia-Germans.Thereareonlyaboutadozenwomen,afewchildrenandoldpeopleleftinthevillage,whowelcometheNazisoldiershappilyasliberators,hopefullygettingrescuedfromtheimpendingRussiandeportation.EventheyoungNazisoldiersappeartobeordinaryhumanbeingswithacivilianpast,jokingandfoolingaround.Bothgroupspeacefullygetcloserandbecomenearlyfriends.ButthentherehappensanassaultayoungwomangetskilledbytheNaziofficer,andinreturntheofficergetskilledinself-defensebyanothersettler.Nowthesituationchanges,thevillagersandtheformerseeminglyfriendlyGermansoldiersstarttotortureandexecuteeachother.Likeinacounting-outrhyme,onebyoneofbothsidesdropsdowndead.Soldiersandciviliansbecomecruelandbrutalkillers,committingcrimestheysurelywon'ttelltheirgrandchildren...
